Based on the film, and with specific references to scenes, describe the rising tensions between American colonists, and the British. How does The Last of the Mohicans illustrate a pretext (future vision) to the Revolutionary War?

Respuesta :

The Seven Years' War, that works as "a backdrop" for the movie wrapped Frenchmen and Englishmen between 1756 and 1763, in the dispute of range of territories of Asia, Africa and mainly North America.

Besides exposing the heinous handling of the Indian by the westerner, this war, triumphed militarily by the Englishmen, deserves the attention of the students, because have been one of the main records of the process of independence of the USA.

Even with the victory and expansion of its colonialism in North America (especially in Canada), England accumulated an elevated onus with the war, which established a radical change in his relation with thirteen North American colonies.

From then, the Liberalism that orientated the relation metropolis-colony was replaced by an extra and more interventionist posture represented by an implacable fiscal load.

Sugar, Stamp, and Tea Acts were foremost examples of the extreme surveillance authority in the colonies. Those laws were incompatible with the feeling of autonomy of the settlers, stimulated by fundamental principles of Enlightenment thoughts of freedom, equality, and fraternity, which had great diffusion for any western world in that historical moment.

The main resistance of the settlers to the fiscal strengthening takes place during the known "Boston Tea Party".  After the announcement of the Tea Act, the rebellion started when disguised settlers threw in the sea a great amount of tea, refusing to accept the product with price established by the Englishmen.

In reply to this attitude, England worsened still more his posture publishing the Intolerable Laws, which among other measures, were establishing the suspension of the port of Boston for the colonial commerce.

In response to those acts, the settlers moved quickly promoting First and Second  Philadelphia Congress. Articulated by vanguard men of the time like Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, the Declaration of Independence of the USA was signed on the 4th of July of 1776.
