Te book of Malachi happens 100 years after the exile of the Israelites. Those that have returned to Jerusalem are denounced by God, mostly because of the charge of corruption. God accuses them of sacrifices, divorce, among many other things. The book also talks about how God WILL keep his promise and send a Messiah which will bring peace to Jerusalem.
