Who benefited least from a sharecropping arrangement? A-sharecroppers B-land C-owners share-tenants D-seed suppliers

Respuesta :

The right answer is A: sharecroppers

Sharecropping is a system in which a landlord leases the land to a tenant in exchange of a portion of the crop which should be given by the end of the year.

It was stablished in U.S.A after the secession war due to the absence of capital or an independent credit system.

Altough tenants were usually affected because of high interest rates, unpredictable harvests, and greedy lanlords and merchants who would tie them to indefinite debt, sharecroppers were even more affected by this system.

Both tenants and sharecroppers were basically farmers with no land, however, Tenants had the option to pay the lanlord to grow their own crops    on certain part of the property, besides, tenants usually owned some tools and livestock.

Sharecroppers,on the other hand, even poorer than that, usually had few or no resources of their own, working in the land only for a share of the crop.
