Answer:

The simplified answer is:   [tex]\frac{23}{72}[/tex]

Step-by-step explanation:

Given expression is:   [tex]\frac{7}{8}+(-\frac{2}{3}) \frac{5}{6}[/tex]

First we need to multiply [tex]-\frac{2}{3}[/tex] and [tex]\frac{5}{6}[/tex]. So,  [tex](-\frac{2}{3}) \frac{5}{6} = -\frac{10}{18}=- \frac{5}{9}[/tex]

Now, the above expression will be......

[tex]\frac{7}{8}+(-\frac{5}{9}) \\ \\ = \frac{7}{8}-\frac{5}{9}\\ \\ =\frac{7*9}{8*9}- \frac{5*8}{9*8} \\ \\ =\frac{63}{72}- \frac{40}{72}= \frac{23}{72}[/tex]

So, the simplified answer is:   [tex]\frac{23}{72}[/tex]

Answer:

1/4 is the answer

Step-by-step explanation:

I had this on a test and I got 1/4. Since we have a poistive number of positives it over powers the negative so the answer must be a positive. So that part is out of the way now lets figure out the top half of the fraction. 7/8 + (-2/3) you have to make a common denominator for we are adding not multiplying. I am going for 24 since 8 times 3 is 24 and 24 is divislible by 3 that will be the common denominator. We have to now multiply the numerator the same amount as the denominator. 7/8 becomes 21/24 and -2/3 becomes -16/24. Now you can add straight across now you can figure out that part since i am only to help you and cuz I have much more to do. So lets say that anser is n,okay. now you take n over the 5/6 divide the numerator by the deniminator for each and that is where you get you answer. Please correct me if i am wrong since im only a beginner at these problems i would love to learn more about it. Hope this helps you! Have a great day. :D
