Scientists developed a new method to detect the precise location of specific molecules within living cells. Where should they expect to find the green photosynthetic chlorophyll molecule?

in the inner membrane of the chloroplast
in the stroma of the chloroplast
in the thylakoid membrane of the chloroplast
in the outer membrane of the chloroplast

Respuesta :

I know this is really late, but for anyone who searches up this question will have an answer now.  Scientists will be able to find the green photosynthetic chlorophyll molecule in the thylakoid membrane of the chloroplast. Hope it wasn't too late.

Answer:

in the thylakoid membrane of the chloroplast

Explanation:

Tilacoides are a set of membranes located inside the chloroplasts of plants and also present in cyanobacteria. Within the tilacoid membranes is the green pigment of photosynthetic chlorophyll. As an internal component of chloroplast, the tilacoid can be divided into membranes and lumen. In plants, these membranes are organized in a disc shape (the money) that are stacked to form the granum (a set of grenades), which connects to other granum by tilacoids in the chloroplast stroma. Granum has many chlorophyll and carotenoid molecules (pigments responsible for the uptake of light radiation) and is therefore the location within the cell where light-dependent photosynthetic reactions occur.
