We are given equation: [tex]\frac{1}{3} +\frac{1}{5} =\frac{2}{8} =\frac{1}{4}[/tex].
We need to explain if the given equation is true or not.
If true, then why true and if not true, why not.
We can see than we have 1/3 on left side of the equation.
And fraction 1/5 is being added into 1/3 on left side of the equation.
On right side of equation we have 1/4.
We know, 1/3 is greater than 1/4.
And if we add something into 1/3, it would also greater than 1/4.
Therefore, 1/4 is less than 1/3+1/5.
Those can not be equal.
