According to Gregorian, American higher education is seen as a model in many countries. He states that one of its strengths is that it developed by informal design, meaning federal land was given to the states to found colleges and universities where anybody could afford it. Thanks to this, American higher education today is a more than $200 billion enterprise, which gives high quality education for all citizens, and gives the opportunity to immigrants with specialized skills to develop in their areas, which also contributes to advance America´s economy.
