The New England colonists believed that faith and spirituality should be put into practice instead of only be known as a theory. Thereby, they would prove that their faith and spirituality come from God, and that it was lived in a daily basis, not only be spread into a church attendance.
They believed that the way a person used to live would show their beliefs and approaches to religion, and that would not only serve to feed the spirit, but to guide their lives, in a manner that hard work, frugality and dilligence was they right way to praise God.
