To answer this question you must make a come factor between the 2 fractions I believe the easiest way to do this is multiply the denominator or bottom number by the other one so 4*5 and 5*4 and what you do to the denominator you must do to the numerator so you would have to do 4*4 and 4*5 for the first fraction to get 16/20 and repeat on the other side 1*5 and 4*5 or 5/20 so the to fractions are 16/20+5/20 then add just the numerators 16+5=21 or 21/20 and simplify to 1/20
The fraction form of the given fractional addition is 21/20.
What is a Fraction?
- It is a small part of the whole collection.
- It is use to divide the whole collection into different parts.
- It is a very useful tool in mathematics to perform calculations of the integers.
Given: Fraction
(4/5) + (1/4)
Now, we will solve this addition of fractions.
⇒ (4/5) + (1/4)
First we will make the denominator equal by multiplying numerator with common factors.
In 4/5: multiply numerator and denominator by 4.
⇒ 16/20
In 1/4: multiply numerator and denominator by 5.
⇒ 5/20
Now we will add 16/20 and 5/20, we will get:
⇒ (16/20) + (5/20)
⇒ (16 + 5)/20
⇒ 21/20
Therefore, the fraction form is 21/20.
