Tom is trying to write 3/47 as a decimal. He used long division and divided until he got the quotient of 0.0638297872, at which point he stoped. Since the decimal do sent terminate or repeat, he concluded that 3/47 is not rational. Do you agree or disagree? Why?
Tom should have continued the repeating decimal. 3/47 is a rational number because numbers that are a fraction are rational numbers. Numbers that are terminating decimal, fractions or intergers are rational numbers.
Agree. It is not a Rational Number because Rational Number repeat and this decimal is not repeating. It is an Irrational Number. If it was Terminating it would and at 0
