The development of industrialization in the United States took place between 1870 and 1914.
The most important natural resources were:
-Oil and gas: these were important because they were used in engines and later as fuel for automobiles. Oil helped create the Petroleum-refining industry.
-Minerals: such as coal (used as fuel in steam engines), iron (used for railroad, bridges and buildings).
-Forests: Their importance has to do with lumber, which were also used as fuel for steam engines on trains and industrial machinery (lumber was later replaced by coal).
The industrialization in the United States involved the transition from manual labour-based industry to mechanised type of labour. This new use of machinery in industries made it possible to produce much more than before, resulting in a big economic growth.
