your answer would be 787.14 if you stopped at the second decimal since you cant divide the whole equation evenly.

Hello there!

What's the SMALLEST number can 7 go into? Well, 5 is too small. 55 works, though!

So you take 7 and think, "How many times can 7 go into 55?" Remember that it cannot go OVER 55. Only 55 or less. 7 times 8= 56, which is more than 55, so it's not good!

Well, 7 times 7= 49. Sounds good!

So put the number 7 on top of 55. (The right 5). Now multiply 7 and 7, which is 49.

Now put the 49 under the 55. Now you subtract 55-49. Whenever you're under the division sign, always subtract!

So 55-49= 6. Then you got to bring the 1 (from 5510) down. This turns 6 into 61.

Multiply 7 times 61, and repeat the whole process.

It's basically:
1). Break down the number.
2). Find which number goes into the number you've chosen the most.
3). Multiply.
4). Subtract.
5). Carry down.
6). Repeat.

I apologize in advance if this is confusing, since it's tricky to put it into words. Perhaps maybe you could ask a teacher or someone who knows how to do this, and can show you in person?

This is one of those things that you need to see in person being done in front of you to understand. I'm not trying to discourage you. It's simply easier to watch it being done. I suggest watching a YouTube video on it. I highly recommend Khan Academy for your academic needs!

Hope this helped! I believe you have it in you. Don't give up! You can do this!
