Why did Europeans start to use so many Africans as slaves?

They started using Africans in the first place, because they were a totally different race, which they considered inferior.

Secondly, because at that time African tribes where where having problems and confrontations between them, so they where quite easy to handle and control.

Hi,

The Europeans wanted laborers that were used to humid and hot climates to do work in their colonies. So since Africans were already in the slave business, Europeans started using them. In addition, they were also hardly (if paid) anything.
