Find the unit rate:  pages per minute.  

To do this, divide 1/4 page by 2/3 minute:

1         3       3 pages

---- * ----- = ---------------- = 3/7 page per minute

4       2         7 min

Note that I have inverted 2/3, obtaining 3/2, and then multiplied 1/4 by that, instead of dividing.

Maria can type 3/7 page per minute.
