The two most recognizable types of conflicts are "External" and "Internal" conflicts.
External conflict is between a character and someone from his surrounding while an internal conflict is one going on in the mind of the character when he/she cannot decide what decision to make.
Internal and external. Internal conflict occurs within the mind of a character who is torn by competing values or needs. External conflict occurs between a character and an outside force such as another person, society as a whole, nature, or fate.
