The distance between the teams in first and second place is 5.7 meters.

It means, the team in first place is 5.7 meters ahead than the team in second place.

Now, the distance between the teams in second and third place is one-third that distance.

So, the distance between the teams in second and third place $= \frac{1}{3}*5.7 =1.9$ meters

It means, the team in third place is 1.9 meters behind the team in second place.

So, for finding the distance between the teams in first and third place, we will just add 5.7 and 1.9

Thus,  $(5.7+1.9)meters=7.6 meters$

So, the team in first place is 7.6 meters ahead than the team in third place.
