Using a metric ruler measure a shoe box and a pad of paper . Find the volume of each in cubic centimeters. Then convert the units to mL. How do I do that?

Respuesta :

Ok let me start answering from here ,

SHOE BOX

It has following measurements

It will be in the shape of a CUBE OR CUBOID.

Suppose, length= L cm, Breadth=B cm, and Height= H cm

Volume of box = L×B×H=L B H cubic centimeter [ I.e when it is a Cuboid.]

Let  L =15 cm, B=10 cm $ H=8 cm

Volume = 15×10×8=1200 cubic centimeter

When it is in the shape of a cube,  Length = Breadth =Height= L cm

So Volume=L × L × L= L^3 cubic centimeter

⇒L = B = H= 12 cm

Volume = 12×12×12=1728 cubic centimeter

Now consider a Pad

Following the same Procedure ,

And  If the Pad is in the shape of a cuboid

Then volume of Cuboid( Pad of paper)= L × B × H = L B H cubic centimeter

Let  L =5 cm, B=4 cm $ H=3 cm

Volume = 5×4×3=60 cubic centimeter

And when it is in the shape of Cube then it's Volume = L × L × L= L^3 cubic centimeter

⇒L = B = H= 6 cm

Volume = 6×6×6=216 cubic centimeter

You must remember⇒ 1 cubic centimeter = 1 milliliter

So Where you have written cubic centimeter Replace it by milliliter.
