Respuesta :

It could be the emotional effects of the illness
Because a mothers love for their children are unlimited and it could be the reason of the mother being heart broken and doesn’t want her son to know about that so it won’t break his heart ( I hope you understood anything bc I’m not good at explaining)

You (the doctor) should go reassure the son that he did nothing wrong and it's a reaction coming from his mother receiving some bad news. Lash outs/mood swings can even be common side effects of certain illnesses. If the son is young it might be beneficial to have you or someone else someone watch him while the mother cools down and walks back.
