How does farming affect biodiversity? Farming requires space, so it primarily contributes to _________ . Also, fertilizers used in farming have high levels of phosphorus and nitrogen, which can eventually lead to ________ .

Blank 1. Habitat loss, invasion, pollution

Blank 2. Eutrophication, Biodiversity, Habitat Fragmentation

Respuesta :

A. Habitat loss
Because by farming the land, species living within the environment loose areas to live in which decreases biodiversity.

B. Eutrophication
Because when using lots of fertilizer, it will eventually lead to run off during rain and the fertilizer will end up in the lakes which affects the biodiversity there. And to define eutrophication, it's basically just the increase of nutrients in lakes or a body of water. This can lead to overgrowth of aquatic plants and they will take up more oxygen and release carbon dioxide which will end up suffocating the aquatic animals living within the water
