5)If only 1/4 of the amount of baking soda in the recipe were used, how much baking soda would be used?(must be a fraction)

Respuesta :

1) Amount of white sugar ÷ the amount of brown sugar =

[tex]\frac{2}{3}[/tex]÷[tex]\frac{1}{4}[/tex]

=[tex]\frac{2}{3}.\frac{4}{1}= \frac{8}{3}=2\frac{2}{3}.[/tex]

2)Amount of white sugar after increase =

[tex]\frac{2}{3}+2\frac{1}{2}=\frac{2}{3}+\frac{5}{2}=\frac{19}{6}=3\frac{1}{6}.[/tex]

3)Amount of flour after increase=[tex]2\frac{1}{4}+2\frac{1}{2}=\frac{9}{4}+\frac{5}{2}=\frac{19}{4}=4\frac{3}{4}.[/tex]

4) Amount of brown sugar =

[tex]\frac{1}{4}[/tex] cup.[tex]\frac{1}{4}of\frac{1}{4}=\frac{1}{16}[/tex]

[tex]\frac{1}{16}[/tex] cup was used .

5)Amount of Baking soda used=

[tex]\frac{1}{4}of\frac{1}{16}=\frac{1}{64}[/tex]
