Based on reading "Desiderata" and knowing that this word means "the items you needed for an archive to make it useful," what can you conclude was the author's purpose in writing this story?
to recommend

to persuade

to justify

to inform

Respuesta :

Max Ehrmann's purpose was TO PERSUADE.

Desiderata means "things that are desired". It is said that the virtues that the poem talks about, are the ones the author needed at that time.

  • Listen to others.
  • Speak quietly and clearly.
  • Be on good terms with everybody.
  • Avoid loud and agressive people.
  • Don't compare yourself with others.
  • Enjoy your achievements.
  • Be cautious in your business affairs.
  • Be yourself.
  • Be at peace with God.
  • Be cheerful.

In short, Desiderata is a wonderfully uplifting poem. It is short and simple but magnificently powerful.

It has been used widely in popular culture and although it was written in the 20s,  those pieces of advice are still used nowadays.

Answer:

I'm pretty sure the answer is to inform.

Explanation: I know it isn't to persuade cause I'm redoing a test and the test is saying it's wrong and the options to recommend and to justify doesn't sound right so I would go with to inform. here's proof of my test saying to persuade is wrong https://gyazo.com/85f2097b15332c7316efff6d8b34ade1
