Find two points on the line that are on lattice points (so you can easily identify their coordinates). I choose to use (0, 2) and (2, -1).
Using rise over run: start at (0, 2) and count the rise (vertical) and run (horizontal) to get to (2, -1). rise = -3, run = +2.
slope (m) = [tex]\frac{-3}{2}[/tex]
Using slope formula: [tex]\frac{y_{2}-y_{1} }{x_{2} - x_{1} }[/tex]
slope (m) = [tex]\frac{-1 - (2)}{2 - (0)} = \frac{-3}{2}[/tex]
Answer: [tex]\frac{-3}{2}[/tex]
