Henry Purcell
Henry Purcell was an English composer, popular for his contributions in Baroque music. The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra is composed by British composer Benjamin Britten with a subtitle Variations and Fugue on a Theme of Purcell, Op. 34. It is one of the most popular works of Benjamin Britten. The theme was drawn on Henry Purcell’s Rondeau from Abdelazer. The concert premiered with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic on October 15, 1945 in Liverpool, England.
