The captain of the FIFA world cup in 1986 was
captained by Diego Maradona. He was the one responsible for the Hand of God
goal – a play that Maradona did when he cut inside from the left and did a low
pass into his teammate. He continued running towards a one-two movement, and
was able to play it nearly behind his teammate and midfielder Steve Hodge of
the opposing England team. It was a goal that was miscued and its infringement
wasn’t called by the referee.
