The Marshall Plan benefited the United States as well as western Europe because it led to the United States being able to trade more efficiently with European countries, since their economies were given a "boost".
The Marshall Plan benefited the United States as well as western Europe because it helped restore the economy of western Europe after the World War II and set the stage to the rapid growth Western Europe experienced afterward as it provided more than $15 billion to help finance the reconstruction of cities, industries, infrastructure damaged, etc. And it also benefited the U.S. because this achievements in Europe helped the U.S. to reach its goals of halting the spread communism on the European continent, of discouraging the creation of the European Common Market and of promoting commerce between those countries and the United States instead.
