During the Colonial times, Parliament did not decide on the things like taxes for the colonists. They were left to decide mist of the laws and taxes. But after the French-Indian War, King George III was in huge a debt. He needed money. So he taxed the colonists. However, he did so without their consent, enraging them. They said, "No taxation eithout representation!"
