Janet solves 6 questions from a math assignment.

If this is 30% of questions given in the assignment, what is the total number of questions given in the assignment?

Respuesta :

30% of his questions was 6 questions.
Translate that to a math equation where q= total number of questions.
30% x q = 6
.3 x q = 6
q= 6/.3
q= 20

There were 20 questions in the test.
And 30% of 20 is 6 so that is the correct answer.

Hope this helps :)

6 out of x questions are answered.

Lets set up a proportion:

6/x = 30/100
100 here acts as the whole number that we currently don't know of.

6*100 = 600
30x = 600
x = 20

There are 20 total questions on the test in this case.
