Given

1 side of the small square = s = 4 feet.

1 side of the larger square = 3 * 4 = 12 feet

Solution

Area_small = s*s = 4 * 4 = 16 feet

Area_large = s*s = 12 * 12 = 144

Area_Large / Area_Small = 144 / 16 = 9

The large square is 9 times large square is 9 times larger than the smaller square.
