Parallel means that they go in the same direction and they don’t intersect and have the same slope. The slope of a line parallel to y=1/2x+3 is 1/2.
Hope it helps and is correct :)
paralell lines have the same slope
in form y=mx+b, m is the slope
given [tex]y=\frac{1}{2}x+3[/tex], we can match and compare with y=mx+b form
[tex]y=\frac{1}{2}x+3[/tex]
vs
[tex]y=mx+b[/tex]
we can see that [tex]m=\frac{1}{2}[/tex] and [tex]b=3[/tex]
this tells us that m, the slope, is equal to [tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex]
since parallell lines have the same slope, the slope of a line paralell to [tex]y=\frac{1}{2}x+3[/tex] is [tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex]
the slope of a line paralell to [tex]y=\frac{1}{2}x+3[/tex] is [tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex]
