Question

What is 20 divided by 2(5+5)? It is not 20 divided by (2(5+5)), I just simply don’t have the divide button on my phone... According to PEMDAS, wouldn’t you first add 5+5 in the parenthesis, then work from left to right, so at that point it would be 20 divided by 2, which gives you 10 and then multiply by 10 (from the parenthesis)?? So the answer should be 100, right?

the answer would be 1. 20 divided by 2(5+5) you would first do 5+5 which gives you 10. rewrite the problem 20 divided by 2(10) you would do 2*10 which is 20. rewrite the problem 20 divided by 20 which is 1. when doing pemdas you need to leave everything in order & just break it down. if you need further explanation, or help, message me. i’m very willing to help until you understand!
