A and D are the best examples here of scaled copies. Only the relative size changes in a scale copy, not the proportions. In D every side is twice as large as the corresponding side of A.
B is "no good," because the its proportions differ, if not its basic shape, when we look at A. Notice how the "fingers" of B are long and narrow, unlike the "fingers" of A.
