What is a / b (2x - 12) = c / d ; x ?
I cannot seem to find an answer without more than 4 fraction bars.
I come to x = c / d / a / b / 2 + 6.
Is this wrong?

Respuesta :

we are given

[tex] \frac{a}{b} (2x-12)=\frac{c}{d} [/tex]

we can solve for x

We can isolate x

step-1: Multiply both sides by b/a

[tex] \frac{b}{a}*\frac{a}{b} (2x-12)=\frac{b}{a}*\frac{c}{d} [/tex]

[tex] (2x-12)=\frac{bc}{ad} [/tex]

step-2:Add 12 both sides

[tex] (2x-12)+12=\frac{bc}{ad}+12 [/tex]

[tex] 2x=\frac{bc}{ad}+12 [/tex]

step-3: combine right side

[tex] 2x=\frac{bc+12ad}{ad} [/tex]

step-4:Divide both sides by 2

[tex] x=\frac{bc+12ad}{2ad} [/tex]..............Answer
