In order to find the slope, you must first solve the equation
Y- 8 = -1/2(x + 4)
Start with the parentheses and multiply both the X and 4 by -1/2
Y- 8 = -1/2x - 2
Now add 8 to both sides
Y= -1/2x + 6 which is now your equation
This is Y= Mx + b form
M = slope
B= y-intercept
Answer is -1/2
