1. You have the following expression:

[tex] 2[7-7x]=2x+4 [/tex]

2. To solve it, you must solve for the variable [tex] x [/tex], as following:

[tex]14-14x=2x+4 \\ x= \frac{10}{16} \\ x= \frac{5}{8} [/tex]

3. Checking for extraneous solutions:

[tex]x= \frac{5}{8} \\ 2[7-7( \frac{5}{8}) ]=2 (\frac{5}{8}) +4 \\ \frac{21}{4} = \frac{21}{4} [/tex]

[tex] \frac{5}{8} [/tex] is a solution.

The answer is the option C: [tex] x=\frac{5}{8} [/tex]
