As the name suggests, the slope-intercept form requires you to find the slope and the intercept. Slope-intercept form is y=mx+b
You can find slope by rise over run, or get two points and plug them into the following formula: [tex] \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} [/tex]. However, if you see that x values increase by one, you can just find the difference between two y values. In this case, the difference is +5 each time, therefore, the slope or m is 5
The intercept is where x=0. Since we know that (1,2) is a point, we subtract 5 from 2 to get the intercept. Therefore, the intercept is -3
Therefore, the formula is y=5x-3
