Hi!

To find the mean of a data set, we add all of the numbers together, then divide by the number of numbers.

13 + 5 + 18 + 0 + 10 + 8 = 54
There are 6 numbers, so divide by 6.
54/6 = 9

The mean is 9

To find the MAD, subtract the mean from all of your numbers. It doesn't matter if the number is negative or not.

13 - 9 = 4
5 - 9 = 4
18 - 9 = 9
0 - 9 = 9
10 - 9 = 1
8 - 9 = 1

Now find the mean of your new data.
4 + 4 + 9 + 9 + 1 + 1 = 28
28/6 = 4.7

The MAD is 4.7

Hope this helps! :)
