You should do your own work
to get x we want to isolate it on one side, while following the rule of symmetry
meaning what happens on one side has to happen on the other side

10X^2 - 56( +56 )=88 - 6X^2( +6X^2 )
this isolates the x's and the whole numbers, but what we do to one side we have to do to the other

10X^2 ( +6X^2 ) -56 ( +56) = 88 ( +56 ) -6X^2 ( +6X^2 )
what we've done here is add ( +56 )  and ( +6X^2 )  to both sides

im going to add one side at a time so its less complex

starting with the left side 10X^2 (+6x^2) -56 (+56)

we add the x's, without adding the exponents though, we would get
16X^2 and the whole numbers -56 + 56 which would be zero
the first half of our answer is 16X^2

the right half of the equation  88 ( +56 ) -6X^2 ( +6X^2 )

we would add the whole numbers first 88 + 56 = 144

next is the x's -6X^2 + 6X^2 which cancel out to zero

the second half of our answer is 144

the full final equatio would be 16X^2 = 144
but since there is an exponent in it we need to square root it
[tex] \sqrt{x} 16 = 4 and \sqrt{x} 144 = 12[/tex]
giving us 4X = 12
divide by 4 and X=3
