Please help me this question is worth 98 points! (ALSO ALL THESE QUESTIONS ARE ABOUT SEA STARS) It would be really appreciated for your help thank you!

What change do you see over the 100-year period?

Suggest one reason why this change might have occurred.

If this population continued for the next 100 years with no changes in arm length, what could you say about these sea stars?

Respuesta :

I dont see the picture to help with a good answer
Evolution takes a very looong long long time
if the sea stars arms hadnt change any in 100 years it just means evolution is something that takes thousands and thousands of years

Answer:

1.  What change do you see over the 100-year period?

The sea stars are consistently growing in the 81-90 cm margin. They are decreasing in range across the board and are starting to see some consistency of where the starfish are landing on the graph of the sizes. Right in the middle.

2.  Suggest one reason why this change might have occurred.

They have evolved into the best length for their environment. Natural selection made it so the starfish with the best attributes passed them on to their young. Because the starfish seem to have swayed towards the middle of the graph, I'm assuming it is because it is the most desirable place to be. Either your limbs are too long or too short or right in the middle and this is what they choose. Just right.

3.  If this population continued for the next 100 years with no changes in arm length, what could you say about these sea stars?

If anything happened in the place where the starfish lived it would most likely that the starfish would not survive because they would not be able to adapt to the new change by changing the length of their arms. The graphs in the future would look really similar.
