Note that in the chemical reactions of both aerobic respiration, glucose is a reactant, but oxygen is a reactant only in aerobic respiration, while glucose is the only reactant of anaerobic respiration. Aerobic respiration produces carbon dioxide and water while anaerobic produces lactic acid.
