Answer:
The Macrosystem
Explanation:
The level of Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological System that comprises the larger cultural influences is the Macrosystem. This theory comprises of 5 concentric systems for an individual. These are:
- Microsystem: the child’s immediate environment which affects him/her directly such as: family, school, neighborhood.
- Mesosystem: the relationship between the different microsystems for instance: a good relationship between teacher and parents, or peers and parents that lead to a better development.
- Exosystem: Everything that impacts the child indirectly, when two or more scenarios that don’t include the child influence its development. for example: parents and their jobs.
- Macrosystem: which are the larger cultural influences, society’s standards, cultural traditions, beliefs, it is the outer layer of the ecological system. Example: country’s political climate.
- Chronosystem: refers to time, socio-historical conditions, the time when events or transitions of occurred in a child’s life. For instance: a divorce.
