Push Factor-When people are forced out of their country because of famine (lack of food), too much trouble, ect.
Pull Factor-When people move to another country not by force but because there are more job opportunities, safer, ect.
One example of a push factor would be the potato famine the Irish experienced in 1845-1855....many of their crops died and there was a lack of food.So they were forced to migrate to United States.
One example of a pull factor would be the gold rush in California 1848-1855.Many Chinese heard about the gold rush and instantly migrated to the United States hoping to strike gold and become rich.So they were pulled by the country's gold.
