Japan has a population of mainly Japanese, almost 99% of the population in Japan are Japanese/ Natives. This means that not many foreigners are seen or are talked about. Because of this, many people in Japan often assume qualities that foreigners don’t have, and can sometimes be offensive or racist. Japan’s strong national identity has contributed to prejudice against ethnic minorities.
