The great leap forward was to reorganize the economy, but this system failed.
the cultural revolution was to do the same but also keep the tradition and approach new aspects in their life. This system also failed.
Those are the causes and effects. The compare and contrast is that They both failed and one was to reorganize the country and the other one was to not only reorganize but meet new standards to aspects in their life to be organized and still keep the traditions.
