It was around thirty years ago when there was a wave of optimism which ran all across Europe and the regime which used to rule Europe fell into places. The long-oppressed public embraced open societies and open markets and it led to United and Unified Europe. Just after three decades, recent research finds that there were very few people from the former eastern bloc who regretted the monumental changes that took place during the period of 1989 to 1991.

But they were neither entirely in support of their current politics and neither economic circumstances nor they were fully against it. Eastern and Central nations of Europe who joined the European Union were of belief that this membership has been good for the countries as it provides widespread support to them in the region in the context of democratic values. They broadly support democracy but their intensity and commitment are not always strong.
