It could either be B Simile because the word As is used, But im also stuck on C onomatopoeia, because knock could be used as a sound for emphasis. Out of spirit im choosing B!
C. Onomatopoeia
An onomatopoeia is a word that sounds the same as its meaning. Knock is an onomatopoeia because the words sounds just like the sound of a knock. Batter may also be considered an onomatopoeia. A simile is a comparison between two unlike things using like or as. While the word "as" in this passage. There is nothing being compared. Personification is giving a nonhuman thing human like traits. There is nothing nonhuman in this passage that is receiving human traits. A volta is a turn in meaning. This is also not in the passage. It's also important to remember here that it says there is one underlined word. Onomatopoeia is the only option because it is the only thing that can be one word.
