The prefrontal cortex is located in the frontal lobe, behind the frontal cortex. The function of this region is for executive function, an ability to differentiate good things from bad things and consequence of an activity. Incomplete development will impair those abilities, makes the teens do risky behavior.

The incomplete development and the changes which occur in the prefrontal cortex of the brain are associated with risky behavior.
