CO2 dissolves well in water especially at low temperature and high pressures.  Every time you open a bottle or can of  soft drink, the CO2 dissolved in the water is released as fizz or bubbles. The same thing with  beer or sparkling wine.  Once the the can is opened, all of the gas will eventually escape from the liquid as bubbles,  when you shake a bottle before opening it, the fizz is stronger, this is because the CO2 which was held tightly together breaks free when additional energy is given... this is by being shaken rapidly.
