The six motivating factors of lifetime fitness are knowledge, discipline, support, time management, enjoyment, and success. Personally, I believe all these factors are significant contributors to motivation, but in choosing one I'd have to say discipline. You can show progress, have an amazing support group, a functional schedule, and enjoy your physical exercise, but without willpower and determination it's highly unlikely anything will actually be accomplished. Those who are well regimented and disciplined are far more likely to stick to a regular exercise routine.
