Respuesta :

4. with those instructions, we were unsure of our nest step after the wheel fell off the bicycle

The sentence that uses the most precise language would be 2: "With multiple steps in the instruction manual, we were unsure of the solution when the wheel detached from the bicycle". First of all, the sentence indicates that the instructions are part of a manual and it also tells that the speakers are not certain about the solution not that they don't know what to do (as it is shown in 1 and 3).  What is more, the verb "to detach" is far more formal than the phrasal verb used in 3 and 4.  Sentence 1 does not even show what happened (the wheel detached from the bicycle). Sentence 4 indicates that the wheel fell off but it is not precise with respect to the number  and type of instructions (those instructions).
