Sugar in urine is called renal glycosuria. You do not need to be diabetic to have sugar in your urine, and diabetics won't all have this issue, either. Sugar levels in the body generally have to be very high for there to be sugar in your urine. This typically happens in the 200-300 levels, but again, this can vary from person to person. Expelling sugar through urine is the body's extreme reaction to high blood sugar levels. For comparison, the normal blood sugar range is 70-100. Your blood sugar is considered to be too low if it falls under 70 (hypoglycemic), and too high if it falls above 240 (hyperglycemia).
